Dr. Arzu Rustamova

Arzu Rustamova graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University in 1987 with a degree in pediatric medicine. Over her career, she has expanded her expertise through a series of international trainings, including an NGO Management program sponsored by USAID in the United States and advanced pediatric and rehabilitation medicine seminars in Austria. In 2005–2006, she participated in the U.S.-Azerbaijan Early Intervention Training Program, enhancing her skills in early childhood development and intervention.

Since 2005, Arzu has served as the Executive Director of the Children’s Healthy Future Center. Previously, from 1996 to 2012, she worked as a pediatric ophthalmologist at the Baku Children’s Rehabilitation Center. She has also held positions as a pediatrician at the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), where she provided care in children’s rehabilitation centers, and as a project coordinator for United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA) in 2002–2003.

 

Arzu has completed several international courses on child and adolescent psychiatry and has led numerous projects focused on social inclusion for children with special needs at the Early Intervention Center. Under her leadership, various training programs and seminars have been conducted, all aimed at advancing rehabilitation services and supporting the healthy development of children.

 

Arzu and her team at the Children’s Healthy Future Center are deeply committed to helping children with special needs integrate into society. Every project at the center is focused on ensuring a brighter and more fulfilling future for these children. Through dedicated care and support, the center provides an environment where they can grow into confident, contributing members of their communities.
